Hello, young padawan! So your plan is to make it big in the music industry, huh? Well, it's impossible to do it without... Songs. And really good ones, or no one will become your fan! That's why composing is one of the most important parts of a band and you should take it seriously.
Composing
The first and most essential step to compose good songs is having Basic Lyrics and Basic Composing skills maxed, along with a specific composing skill (ballad, anthem, crowdpleaser). You only need one type to compose your songs. After that, you just need to create a song (Song section under Career & Activity) and switch your focus to compose music.
Songs
Composing naturally, you'll see updates on your diary containing the follow text: I worked on the music for the song Daechwita. The progress is visible on the song menu, you'll first focus on the music and later on the lyrics. When the song is done, you'll see another diary entry.
Big Hits
Some songs turn into "hits" when they are finished. This will be shown in the diary upon finishing the song. Writing a hit is semi-random; it becomes more likely the more time has passed since writing your last hit, but can only happen once per in-game year (between 56 to 90 days). There is nothing special about a hit song besides it being higher quality than you would normally write.
Stage Potential
Song Market
You can sell your songs in the Song Market. Once you've put up a new song for sale, artists will get up to 1 week to bid on it. After this, the owner get to sell the song to the bidder of his choice. It needs to be VIP to use Song Market and the song wouldn't played live.
